Join us in San Marcos, California, for a friendly aerial competition and practice event! De Leon Fall Fest™ is your casual companion to the premier De Leon Cirque Fest™ (Feb 16-21, 2027) – designed for local artists at compulsory, novice, and student levels to build skills, connect with peers, and enjoy a supportive environment without high-stakes pressure.

Participant Entries:

Compulsory (Pre-choreographed routine on silks or lyra): $75

  • Set routine (everyone competes the same routine on silks or lyra) – a link to the choreography will be found here
  • 2 min routine with up to 4 performers on stage – one judge per performer
  • Judged on form/execution/technique

Novice: $90 per act

  • Under 150 seconds  (2.5 min)
  • Must be on apparatus for at least 80% of routine
  • Judged not on difficulty – judging is based 50% on character/artistry and 50% on form/execution/technique.

Student: $100 per act

Student Group acts: Duo ($75pp), Trio ($60pp), more than 3 in act ($50pp)

Under 180 seconds (3 min)

Must be on apparatus for at least 80% of routine

Judging criteria:

Up to 30 points possible – up to 10 points based on difficulty, up to 10 points based on character and artistry and up to 10 points based on form, execution and technique.

Competitors are welcome to attend each session to cheer on friends and fellow performers (no ticket needed) – seating prioritized for paid ticket holders.

De Leon Fall Fest™ will take place in conjunction with the United Circus Arts Network Conference (more info to come!), creating a great opportunity for aerial and cirque artists, coaches, and studio owners to connect, learn, and celebrate together in one inspiring weekend.
